Ink & Roll Fingerprinting

Fast and Accurate Ink and Roll Fingerprints in Alberta

Ink Fingerprinting in Alberta for Screening Purposes

At Edmonton Fingerprinting Services, we have trained specialists to produce high-quality ink and roll fingerprints for standardized fingerprint cards and police clearance applications around the world.

While most applicants will be able to take advantage of digital fingerprinting sessions, traditional ink and roll fingerprints are required for foreign police checks (including an FBI check), some high level Canadian security screening purposes and for those individuals whose fingerprints are of too poor quality for electronic submission.

What Is Ink and Roll Fingerprinting?

Ink and roll fingerprinting is the traditional way to capture fingerprints for cross-referencing with police and governmental databases. While most applicants will be able to take advantage of digital fingerprinting sessions, traditional ink and roll fingerprints are required for foreign police checks (including an FBI check), some high-level Canadian security screening purposes, and for those individuals whose fingerprints are of too poor quality for electronic submission.

Ink fingerprints are taken by rolling the person’s fingertips in ink before rolling the ink-covered fingertips across a pre-prepared card. Care must be taken to ensure fingers are rolled from one side of the fingernail to the other.

What Happens Next

Your fingerprints will be taken by experienced professionals who were proper training that allows them to conduct ink fingerprinting services effectively and efficiently. We are equipped with an embosser seal to authenticate the fingerprint cards when it is specifically required by the authority of a foreign country.

Our office provides RCMP fingerprint forms and USA FBI fingerprint cards. If a criminal record check is required from another country, please ensure you attend our office with all of the necessary forms, identification, photos, and fingerprint cards (if applicable). Some countries do accept RCMP fingerprints forms, but some countries have their own specific forms, you will have to check with the authority to make sure an appropriate form is used. If you attend our office with a fingerprint card that has space for a photo, please ensure you bring a recent photo of the appropriate size with you, or you can take the photo in our office.

Note: Please ensure you attend our office for your ink and roll fingerprinting appointment with a recent photo if there’s a space on the country’s card for one.

Effective July 1st 2014 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, RCMP, will no longer accept mailed copies of inked fingerprint cards except under special circumstances.
